40 by 40 weekly update

I am happy to report I am down another 2 lbs this week.  I am thrilled.  My goal was two pounds and I accomplished my goal.  Last week I told you I was thinking about finding out how much I weighed so I could use a new app to help me in my weight loss journey.

Well, I did it.  I downloaded the "Lose It" app and then it was time to face the music.  Brian told me my weight and I have to say I was stunned.  I quickly did the math and about died when I realized how much I weighed when I started this journey on January 1st.  I had never been that weight outside of being pregnant.  I am so glad I didn't know my starting weight back then.  I think I would have been too depressed to even try.  Stupid I know, but that's how my brain works sometimes.

Back to the app.  Lose It is awesome and it's free.  It tells you how many calories you have to consume each day to reach your weekly goal.  I want to lose 2 lbs a week, so for me I need to stay around 1,213 calories a day.  Now if you exercise, you will need to eat more.  There is a button to add in your exercise and it will calculate that for you.

I have never been one to count calories, but this app really does work.  It's amazing and so simple.  I am eating alot of whole foods and still juicing and that's my focus, but I will say this helps me know how many calories I am consuming every day.

I also think it's important to know your BMI and what your healthy weight range should be for your height.  For me at just about 5'9, my healthy Body Mass Index should fall between 18.5-24.9.  Today I am at 25.2 just barely "overweight".  I would like to see it my BMI around 20, which means my weight would be 140.  That would be ideal for me.  Do you know your BMI?  If not, you can click here and have it calculated for you.

I will let you do the math, but to reach 140, I need to lose 31 more lbs.  As of today, I have lost 17 lbs.  I am thrilled with the weight loss, but I still have a long way to go.  I hope to lose 10 more pounds by the time I turn 40 next month.  I know I won't have reached my goal of 40 by 40, but I am ok with that.

Brian mentioned to me the other day that he was proud of me for sticking with my healthy eating.  I've been under alot of stress and the dizziness, most days, is unbearable.  The old me would've turned to food to bring me comfort, but the new me, now says I am stronger that that chocolate chip cookie.

Today, I have already won.

Go gurl! I have the SAME goal, but unfortunately, I am not going to reach it since my bday is in a few months. But I am STILL trying! Although I wish I was stronger than that cake that is in my fridge, lol!

I knew we had more in common than we had time to share at Blissdom, LOL! We have a juicer and a mac daddy blender that I would run back into a burning building for ~ It is THAT good!
